What are smelly feet?
Smelly feet or foot odor is a clinical condition in which the foot becomes smelly due to excessive sweating.
What are the causes of Smelly feet?
The feet have 250,000 sweat glands in the feet. Feet are trapped inside the shoes. Sweat is basically salt & water, so it doesn’t have a distinctive smell of its own. The smell is actually caused by bacteria on the skin that eats the sweat & excretes waste that has a strong odour. The dark & damp environment inside the shoes creates a fertile breeding ground for the bacteria that produce isovaleric acid, the substance responsible for the smell.
How Amron Fragrant Feet is helpful in preventing foot odor?
Active Charcoal absorbs the odor.
Upper Cotton lining & ventilation holes absorb sweat & keep the feet dry. Thus, remove the main cause of foot odor.
Natural Latex gives cushioning effect & reduces leg fatigue.
What are the other precautions to be followed to prevent foot odor?
Practice good foot hygiene to keep bacteria levels at a minimum: feet are often the most neglected parts of the body. It is important to clean the feet properly with soap, applying it thoroughly between the toes & on the sole.
It is equally important to dry the feet properly, especially between the toes, before wearing the socks.
Wear washed socks every morning. Never ever wear the same pair again without washing.
Avoid nylon socks. Cotton or cotton rich socks are better because they are good absorbents of sweat.
Never wear shoes without socks.
Preferably wear leather shoes. While choosing sport shoes make sure that the design has mesh or other such material which lets the feet breathe.
Maintain at least two pairs of shoes & wear them again.
Dust your feet frequently with a non medicated baby powder or foot powder. Applying antibacterial ointment also may help.
Check for fungal infections between your toes and on the bottoms of your feet. If you spot redness or dry, patchy skin, get treatment right away.
What if, it is left untreated?
If left untreated, it can lead to Athlete’s foot. Also, the person might be suffering from a condition called hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). This requires medical attention.
